I really can't help but like that knew McDonalds commercial about the filet o fish, you know the one I'm talking about! The one with the singing fish on the wall! I don't know why but I find it quite well delightful! Most people I have come across find it either very funny and like to sing the song, or find it really annoying! There is no happy medium with this commercial.
I was watching the news and they had a segment on the people behind the catchy jingle, they are actually local people. They were saying how it has become part of pop culture now, and I have to agree. Just the other day my friend called me and said "you have something of mine give it back" and I said what? He then proceeded to sing "give me back my filet o fish..." to funny! See it is already becoming one of those commercials that you may never forget even if you might want to!
I haven't seen this one yet--I guess it shows that I've been grading and/or working in the yard now that THE OFFICE & 30-ROCK are in reruns....
ReplyDeleteBTW, because these posts are from the 14th, I'm going to count them towards the NEXT period... I'm giving you a pass on the comments (harder to track down on my end)... FYI!
There have been so many fast food companies competting about their fish sandwiches!! My mother has always loved McDonald's Fish Fillets and so I loved them too! I don't have them too often but I think they're delicious.
ReplyDeleteHowever, a few months ago something ruined my love of this delicious sandwich forever...
It has almost 500 calories.. :( My taste buds love it, yet my thighs hate it!
Clever marketing by McDonalds! Ads like these stick around for a while because they become imbedded in social culture. Just like the "5 dollar foot long" and "break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar" this filet o fish ad is a gold mine for their advertising campaign
ReplyDeleteI gotta admit I'm a fan. It is an unbelievably stupid and annoying jingle but damn is it catchy. It's funny how this little commercial has taken on a life of it's own. Everyone is talking about this commercial. Whoever created this commercial certanily must've gotten a raise. The point of any commercial is to have it stick with the watcher, and that is what it's done. A little P.S., if your a Tenacious D fan. One of the two dudes in the commercial is "Lee". I can begin to explain Lee. He's in the Pick of Destiny and their HBO stuff. If your a fan of the D, then you know what I'm talking about.
